TESA

TESA (Testicular Sperm Aspiration) is a surgical sperm retrieval method used in cases of male infertility. It is particularly preferred for men with obstructive azoospermia (blockage in the sperm ducts) or non-obstructive azoospermia (sperm production disorders). During the procedure, local anesthesia is administered, and sperm cells are aspirated directly from the testis using a fine needle.

The retrieved sperm is then sent to the laboratory for fertilization with eggs using the intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) method in IVF treatment. TESA is a simple and quick procedure that is generally painless, and patients are usually discharged on the same day.

If a sufficient number of sperm are not obtained during the procedure, alternative methods such as TESE (Testicular Sperm Extraction) may be used. TESA offers a promising solution for men who are unable to conceive naturally.
