Treatment Journey and Steps

Necessary Tests and Examinations: Pre-IVF Screening

Before starting IVF treatment, a series of tests and examinations are required to ensure an accurate diagnosis and an effective treatment plan. This process is crucial for increasing success rates and achieving a healthy pregnancy. At Clavis Fertility Center, our expert team is here to guide you through every step of the testing and evaluation process.

Treatment Process Steps: How Does IVF Treatment Work?

Initial Consultation and Evaluation

The treatment process begins with a comprehensive consultation with our doctors. During this session:

  • Your medical history, fertility status, and potential risks are assessed.
  • Necessary tests and examinations are planned.
  • A personalized treatment plan is created, and detailed information is provided.

Ovarian Stimulation (Ovulation Induction)

At this stage, hormone injections are used to stimulate the ovaries to produce more eggs. Throughout the process, regular ultrasounds and blood tests are conducted to monitor ovarian response.

  • Ovarian development is closely monitored.
  • The maturity level of the eggs is evaluated.
  • The timing for egg retrieval is carefully planned.

Egg Retrieval (Oocyte Pick-Up)

Once the eggs are mature, they are retrieved through a minimally invasive procedure, typically performed under mild sedation and lasting about 15-20 minutes.

  • Using ultrasound guidance, eggs are carefully collected from the ovaries.
  • The retrieved eggs are preserved in a laboratory setting.
  • A short recovery period is recommended after the procedure.

Sperm Collection and Preparation

On the same day, a sperm sample is collected from the male partner and prepared in the laboratory.

  • The sperm sample is processed to enhance motility and quality.
  • If donor sperm is used, the pre-arranged sample is prepared for fertilization.

Fertilization

The collected eggs and processed sperm are combined in a laboratory setting.

  • Conventional IVF: Eggs and sperm are placed together for natural fertilization.
  • ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection): A single sperm is directly injected into the egg.
  • The fertilized eggs begin developing into embryos, which are carefully monitored.

Embryo Transfer

The healthiest embryos are selected and transferred into the uterus. This procedure is generally painless and completed within a few minutes.

  • The number of embryos transferred is determined by the doctor.
  • Any remaining high-quality embryos can be frozen for future use.
  • A pregnancy test is conducted 10-14 days after the transfer.

Pregnancy Test and Results

Approximately two weeks after embryo transfer, a pregnancy test is performed.

  • A blood test confirms whether pregnancy has occurred.
  • If positive, the pregnancy will be closely monitored by our medical team.
  • If negative, our specialists will assist you in planning the next steps.
